Carbon aero wheel questions

Greetings

Besides looking bada$$.... I have the following questions about say 50 mm carbon clincher wheels.

1. Are internal nipples worth it relative aero gains versus the extra effort to true a wheel?

2. Help me quantify speed increase over my Boyd Vitesse wheelset. 28 mm Al clinchers. Typical effort (not all out) sees low 20s mph flattish road little wind.

3. When looking at aero wheel data, its the air speed versus ground speed? IOW, a rider will see more gains riding into head wind. Where I live, it is seldom calm with winds often 10-15-20 mph.

Thanks

Chris

Do you ride with a power meter?

Power savings at that speed will likely be something like 15 watts imho. But this is just hand wringing without more data.

I just swapped to some 46mm carbon wheels from 27mm AL wheels. With that change alone, I noted an avg speed about 1-1.5 mph faster. But I'm slow so average speed was 16.3-17.8 or so at average 150-160np.

It definitely makes a pretty big difference esp as speed goes up.
