If anyone has a 0° stem recommendation that's not Thomson or Easton EA90 I'm all ears. Going on a Ti frameset with black components.

I found a Moots 0 degree on the secondary market.
But anyway good look with that one.

I think you're looking for a threadless. That plus black is like a double whammy for me (I like silver quills!) but I do like the Simworks Caroline and the Velo Orange Tall Stack.

I agree. The VO logo is better but no logo (or black on black) would be better!

Too bad the Simworks doesn’t have a removable face plate. That’s one of the best features of threadless stems. Still, it’s made by Nitto so you know it’s strong!

Good Luck!

That's one of the best things about it. Removable face plates are inconsistent with the brazed aesthetic IMO. Not only do they look like bad plumbing, they are functionally inferior. The benefit of ease of swapping stems is moot once you know what you want. The only benefit would be ease of packing for travel bikes.

Best looking stem? Very subjective and personal.

If I were to choose among the lot in my makeup kit...

These two stand out...

+1 Fizik R1 on a Merlin. What do you have as a seatpost though.. is partial intent to match that? Note though that I think i've read that that the FIZ:K logo gets truncated to just the ":K" part with the shorter stems, but I think maybe with 90mm the full logo is still intact.

Functionally inferior? Good luck putting a modern compact bar through one of those old stems. I had to resort to using a penny to spread the clamp enough to get a bar in. Luckily it was a steel stem. I might have broken an aluminum one.

Thinking of getting this Nitto stem instead of using a quill adapter, but man it does look ugly.

I'm curious, will a Deda stem with a 31.7 handlebar clamp work on a handlebar with a 31.8 clamp diameter?

My vote goes to Rob English, those things are gorgeous.
Way out of my price range, alas, and no removable faceplate so your choice of bars is more limited.
