ebay weirdness

I have several bike components listed on ebay, none with the "bye it now" option. All of the auctions end tomorrow night. Yesterday one of my items "sold". I never received or accepted an offer from the "buyer". Now, almost 24 hours later, I have not received payment from the "buyer". I'm puzzled. Does anyone have insights?

there usually is a button where buy it now requires immediate payment. you should have used that.

Well, if no BIN, how would you accept or not? eBay does that automatically. If they paid yet or not is a different story i think..

What puzzles me is that someone was able to purchase WITHOUT a bye it now option.

If re-listed automatically ebay can default it to BIN, I have seen that happen.

Did you have a minimum price set? If not and they were the highest bidder when auction ended, then its theirs. I believe that they will have 4 days to pay. Do not ship until payment is confirmed by Ebay.

I use to sell on Ebay with payment by check. It took a week or more. The good ole days.

This shouldn't happen. If it does, you should definitely dispute it with eBay. Auto relist should have the exact same parameters as the original listing.

By "purchase" do you mean they won the auction? If you didn't have the immediate payment options selected, they have some number of days (I think 4 as someone mentioned above is correct). If they haven't paid within that time, you can cancel the transaction. It happens sometimes. I've had people ask to cancel and some just ghost, but as long as you've given them the required amount of time to pay, it will go down as a strike on the buyer's account, not yours. It's a bummer, but I consider it the cost of doing business on eBay.

Edit: I see now, you mean that one of your auctions ended earlier than it should have? That sounds like a glitch. Can you see who the buyer is? I'd send them a message first. If they don't pay through eBay, I would email eBay customer service.

You can call the customer service and ask. Last two issues I had on eBay were quickly resolved through phone call. I hate calling support and was pleasantly surprised at how quick got answers.

I give people 24 hours to pay. After that, I relist. Anyone who is serious pays right away.

OP, did you go in and edit your listing at any time? If so, you have to recheck all your parameters because ebay often will reset to their personal defaults.

This is very strange. My listing was scheduled to end tonight, 2/25/2024. There was no BIN option. I did receive a couple offers which I declined. On 2/23/2024 my auction ended when someone BIN for $60. I never intended to accept any offers. My plan was to let the auctions playout. I did not select the BIN option for any of my auction items. I did not revise any of my listings.

Did you login to your eBay account and make sure the auction actually ended, or are you just looking at an email telling you someone bought your item? It it's the latter, the email could be fake and this could be some type of scam.

+1
I NEVER click on any Ebay or PayPal email just in case. I always go to the site or APP and log in there and check.
