More to the point, I find it hard to believe that anyone has gotten divorced because of their bicycle purchases or riding, per se. But very easy to believe that either of those could be blamed when there are deeper issues at play - such as the partner feeling neglected, under-valued, taken for granted, etc.

. .

One of my goals for 2019 is to make the most of my non-cycling time so that I can check out to the garage or for a ride without any guilt or frustration that I have neglected things on the home-front that need attention or doing.

Where do you find divorce notices?

I sold the bitches bikes, then divorced her. Also had her arrested on Tax Fraud.

It wasn't the friendliest of divorces

I was typing a long diatribe about things at home, but i'll say this -- if you figure it out, please let me know how.

When my brother was in the Navy in the late 80s he was part of a Camaro club in VA. One dude had a sick ride and LOVED it more than he should have lol.
A year or so went by and when his divorce was finalized he bought back his Camaro from his best friend.

Apparently, he sold it to his friend who then registered and insured it, etc. but allowed dude #1 to keep driving it. When they got to court his wife demanded the Camaro (bc she knew it would destroy him) only to find out her husband sold it more than a year earlier and well before the divorce was filed (he saw it coming a mile off) and the judge ruled it wasn't his asset. I'm told the key was dumping it before any talk of divorce was mentioned, and certainly before papers were filed lol

It's when the Tax Office calls to ask about the two $100,000 dividends that were paid to you and weren't declared or had tax paid on, When looked into after I had resigned from the company she had continued to claim a salary and dividends in my name for two years but paid it to herself. It was a **** storm to clean up for me and to prove that I hadn't received any monies.

I was thinking the same thing as I typed. Well, it was the 90s and even though I lived in "silicon valley" the San Jose Mercury News was still a physical artifact..

Wow that’s kind of surprising. Nowadays you don’t post divorce notices. The only things I can think of off hand that require proof of posting is Name change and estate probate.

Different time I guess

It also depended/still depends on the particular paper.

It also depends on where - in Colorado's common law state, it's not uncommon to need to post a notice in the newspaper.
