The Jerk Doesn't Live Up To His Name!
Toaday I stopped by the shop where the Jerk works needing a little help. I changed the cassette on my Vanilla and could not for the life of me get it shifting properly. If the top end worked the bottom end didn't and vise-versa. I stopped in to a very busy shop on a Saturday morning and what does the Jerk do? He personally took my bike and worked his magic on it and didn't charge me a cent for the labor! I purchased a set of Cafe Covers for my Speedplay cleats and was on my way to continue my ride. Most shops and shop guys would have said something like "I can have it for you on Wednesday". Not the Jerk, thanks!

the jerk is one of those nicknames. like calling a tall guy shorty. or a short guy stretch. or calling a tall skinny euro-bike know-it-all with a heart of gold the jerk. or something like that.

I think most of us in the know , know who the Jerk is , but like the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus , we all want to believe that the Jerk is worth keeping as a mystery . I for one want to believe in the Jerk and his sage fitting advice to me to lengthen all my clients stems in the future . Thanks Jerk , we believe in U

As long as we're ruining the Jerk's hard-earned rep, let me pile on by saying that when some friends of mine recently visited the USA for the first time, the Jerk performed numerous random acts of kindness in helping them find their bearings in New York City.
