We had a red one in the store. It weighed a ton. But man was it cool.

This one, so I bought it here recently. Only way to squelch the feeling I got looking at the ad/pics.

Big aluminium fan and have always wanted to see one of these in the flesh!

Can I buy you a coffee (or beer, whatever) for the privilege?

Yep - Beaumaris. Your welcome to come over - on weekend and take a look

Circa 1997 and my Klein Adroit.
It was a trail rocket. Best handling mtn bike I've ever had.
Just a little stiff.
Okay, it was really stiff.

I thought that looked familiar! Thing is awesome. Here's mine. An old pic. I now have T11/Forza wheels with black hubs.

My Peg Love #3 has been a pretty magical experience. Maybe I've just had a string of mediocre road bikes before this one but I'm loving the heck out of this thing. If you would have told me 5 years ago that in the year 2020 all of my bikes would be metal or part metal, I'd have laughed so hard.

Pinarello...

When I was a young guy they built a velodrome in Dominguez Hills for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. It had a bike store attached and there was a bright red Pinarello, all-campy of course. Sew-up's. That was when Nelson Vails had his break-out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NXi04trxdE

It was beautiful. I recall it being about $1,000 which based on my budget then would be about $50k in 2020 dollars - complete unobtainium. I definitely did not ride it. I think I picked it up - it was probably 21lbs while my bike of that era was probably 27-29lbs after all of the amateur lightening I could manage.

A few years back I saw a beater late 80's red Pinarello, campy 9-speed on CL for $400 and bought it reflexively, scratching that old itch. It's heavy (by current standards) and I have hardly ridden it - sometimes *wanting* is better than having...

Most recent, non-riding visual-only 'whoa' was this bike: http://www.tred.me/wp-content/upload...laterale2L.jpg

For riding, I bought a 2019 Scott Addict RC and while the looks are just ok, the performance of that bike is eye-opening. Stiff, fast, comfortable. The 2020 model actually looks a lot better -- all cables fully hidden in the bar/frame.

2020 model: https://www.bikeradar.com/news/scott-addict-rc-disc/

A Serotta Legend TI.

Randomly attached myself to a Serotta promo ride with a bunch of Serotta loaners. Prior to that I was riding a Specialized aluminum bike that I picked up at a sporting goods store and sized myself by standing over it and saying "looks right"

We did Alpine Dam(n) in the SF Bay Area. The ride blew my mind. At one point I was raving to the guy next to me about the bike, then realized I hadn't introduced myself. "By the way, my name is Rob" I said.

"Pleased to meet you. I'm Ben Serotta. Glad you like the bike."

Hook set. Deeply.

In 1973 I rode a buddies FREJUS (don't know the model name), equipped with Campy NR. Tubular tires. It was the first Italian race bike I ever rode. I had been riding a FUJI Finest which, until I rode the Frejus, I thought was a hot, high end bike. . . the FREJUS opened my eyes to real, high performance bikes. It was fabulous.
