The fork is lighter and you can use a modern bar stem combo which is also lighter, it makes the front end stiffer as well.

columbus minimal has become the most popular from what i can tell. it's what i used. its a great fork but in my opinion its mega stiff. if i still had that frame i would have had a steel fork built for it because i'm a wimp. the best most comfortable one i've used is from taiwan by trigon. they made lots of bulk carbon forks for bespoke frame builders who rebrand them. when i had the trigon fork, it had an aluminum steerer.

I recommend the Ritchey Comp Carbon fork: https://us.ritcheylogic.com/us_en/comp-carbon-road-fork. Make sure the rake and axle-to-crown measurements match your original fork. Whatever fork you choose, I recommend using one with a steel or aluminum steerer tube. 1” carbon steerer tubes are too flexible IMO.
