That's them, but won't ship to me. I wonder how old those are now?

No difference. They are all almost equivalent in carbs/protein/fat. They are all called Kookie bars. Energy due the high carb content. My apologies for not clarifying. The Brownie bar is my favorite....hold up in the heat well. In fact, heat them up in a microwave, wrapper off of course, or take them out on a hot day and they taste like dessert. Easy fit into a jersey pocket. No sugar alcohols equals zero gastric distress.

The originals:
Chocolate
Malt-nut
Wild Berry

(Tiger Milk - only when truly desperate)

Then Apple Cinnamon, Vanilla Crisp mixed up the monotony.

We’re in a better place now.

PowerBars are now sold in hardware stores as spackle. Where they should have been all along.

Really???
After all that has happened, even just very recently, after Ahmaud Arbery, after Christian Cooper, after George Floyd?

Joke or not, "explained" or not, the inherent bias of this forum or not, blind/deaf/dumb or not, quoting that awful cliché here is in terrible taste. Not funny in the least. Really disappointing.

Malt-Nut was my favorite yet Wild Berry was a close second. I really liked 'em.
I have a pic where a Wild Berry Powerbar was molded into the shape of a tongue that could have been used with a Gene Simmons costume!

I can't believe that I am getting all nostalgic about what my race fuel was back in the 90's.

I remember one PowerBar competitor, same sort of pre-digested slab, only thicker. My favorite flavor was the Apple Oat. Sorry to say they don't seem to have lasted much beyond the mid-1990's. Was it the Stoker bar? That's it I think.

And I clearly remember my post-race ritual, while sitting in my truck before heading home. It was an original Met-R-X bar (before any crunchy bits got added). Big bar, high in protein, dissolved in my mouth while chewing. Always chased down with a quart of water (then some walking about before the long drive home so as not to suffer leg cramps).

Also remembering CytoMax Apple flavored drink, and Orange (with "herbal lift").

No doubt though that today's Cliff Bar has replaced the PowerBar in my jersey pockets.

Good recollection! It used to take 10 minutes to consume one of them.
Absolutely agree that it was essential to have a good supply of water handy.

My favorite was the Exceed bar, but they didn't last long. The flavor was overly synthetic, but for some reason I liked it.

What's now a decent (cheap!) one. I just use fig newtons but they tend to get crumbly and crush, plus get stuck in mouth if dried out.

Needs to be chocolate.

thx

I'm trying these. Right now, they have a daily deal. 30 bars for $25, shipped. Better than the offered discount (Thank you for that, too). He says they hold up well, so gonna try them out. The Chocolate Brownie sounds good.

And if you thought the original Powerbars were tough in the summer you almost couldn't bite through them if you were out mountain biking at 30ºF.
