OT: Battlestar Galactica returns!
http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/
We are aliens, all of us. We landed here on Earth in the form of invisible life, elements unseen to the eye. There are 62,300,000 hits for the truth on google, life came from space: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&f...0&oq=life+came A Cylon showed up, asked us where are we going and where have we been? We didn't have an answer and the lock on the screen door can't keep out the truth. Last edited by Viper; 01-14-2009 at 04:02 PM. |

The disc wheel clearly doesn't belong on that bike. Or is that the way aliens roll?

He put the disc wheel in there because he occasionally indulged in whimsy. The things I can't figure out are these: 1. What does that bike have to do with some TV show about space? 2. Why does Viper insist on attaching all those off-topic pictures, which hog waay more bandwidth than text?

For what it's worth, that's not a disc wheel, it's a Uni-cover, a horrible little thing consisting of nylon and aluminum wire that attaches around your rim with little easily-breakable plastic clips.
They worked great, but they were fragile as heck and tended to mark you as a poor poseur in the local time trial or triathlon. Oh, and to air your tire, you had to disconnect the wire rim from the clips, which usually led to a slightly bent wire rim or a broken clip or two. Lorne Greene was clearly a superior Adama. |

Lol! . . .
That last pic reminds me . . . In 1994 or 95 I went down to St. Petersburg for a Poynter Institute workshop. The hotel we were at also had a Star Wars convention going on the same week. There was one guy who was dressed up like Han Solo--I mean the whole nine yards and the blaster holster with the little string around his leg. He was wondering around the lobby or pool trying to look tough EVERY TIME I went through any of those areas. I mean EVERY TIME--and we went through the lobby four times or more per day. Head out the door in the morning--there he was. Back and out for lunch--there he was. End of the day--there he was. Fitness room--there he was walking by the windows. He always had that same "tough" look on his face and never spoke. It was pretty creepy the one time I had to ride the elevator with him.
Now since the new Battlestar wasn't even thought of then, I guess what I'm wondering is . . . VIPER, WAS THAT YOU? BBD Quote:

thread drift...
definitely looking forward to BSG!
the drift....just read in the paper today the passing of Ricardo Montalban, who (to me) will always be remembered as "Khan" rather than "Mr. Roark". Also read that Patrick McGoohan passed away....of the groundbreaking TV series "The Prisoner".
