Stunning work Charles! Did you do the paint yourself or farm that out to someone else?

I have a couple of oldies that could use this treatment. However, my level of patience and skill to get them to this condition aren't equal to yours by any means.

It was similar to the Bianchi in condition. This picture hides everything

It's waiting on decals of proper quality. first set is rejected.

It's getting full Panto build...

The condition is solid, but it's a full tear down, take apart, refinish and rebuild too...

That front Der is probably 2 hours?
You do that with little springs and screws or are you replacing those parts?

Crazy shine

That’s exactly what I was wondering.
Obviously I have some learning to do still.

Mind linking me those “rouge sticks”? And I’ve got a good assortment of Dremel polishing stuff, but I must not know how to use it properly. They always fall apart on me before actually bringing any shine to anything.

Under-stated on my part, but what a great job.

I appreciate that you chose a mid-level bike of the Nuovo Racing's pure spiritedness for such a project, as the Nuovo Racing (and Bianchi's Japanese-made Super of the very early eighties) were racing bikes through and through.

I've got one of each, but my restoration efforts pale as I don't have painter's skills.

I'm not clear one one thing Charles M: did you paint the frame too, or did you send it out?

If you did everything shown here yourself, you're an effing genius...

We are dying here waiting for a full on side-view of the completed Bianchi.

Everything is original for the most part. The trick is a nice set of needlenose pliers so you hold the small things tight enough that they don't go flying... The springs are the worst.

Every once in a while something needs replacing, but for the most part, this stuff is so well made that it just cleans and buffs up... Piece by piece.

You just run the polishing bit against the rouge till it's coated, then you hit the polishing bit (coated in rouge) against the metal...

Thanks for the tip.
Sorry for all the questions, but since you’re here... what would you recommend for something like the round (chrome?) piece of a Campy NR shifter? Any I’ve found typically have some rust and no matter what I’ve tried, I either can’t get all the pitting, or chrome flakes off. Replace?
