Show me your..work aprons?
I've got a Bucky's canvas apron I picked up new with tags at a thrift store when I first moved to Santa Barbara. It's been pretty good, MUSA, long bodied and deep pockets.
I live in a small apartment, so no real tool bench and want to have quick access to the most frequently used tools (allen keys, screw driver, pliers) without having to dig around the deep pockets. Am thinking of sewing some webbing on to hang some tools. Wondering if other paceliners have modded their aprons? I guess another consideration is with more tools, the apron can get considerably heavier and strain my neck more. hmm. Last edited by jasonification; 01-05-2021 at 10:01 AM. |

Look for an apron that uses shoulder straps that cross in the back then tie into the waist instead of hanging from your neck. Much more comfortable for long wear with loaded pockets.
I have a Silca work apron and love it. Shoulder straps, lots of intuitive pockets, comfortable to wear. I especially like the leg splits for extra mobility. I use it for all kinds of projects - bike and non-bike alike. After a few years of use, still holding up very well. |

I'm cheap when it comes to work aprons. I have a few aprons from when I was working in the shops as a ski tech from the binding and ski companies. What I use now though is just a couple of inexpensive kitchen aprons that I picked up as Sam's Club a bunch of years ago. For my needs they work as well as anything.

Duluth trading makes an apron out of their firehose fabric that has some nice features. I was close to getting this one instead of the Silca. I don't have any direct experience with their apron but can say that the firehose work pants I have are tough as nails.
