Oops, thought I had posted that. 70mm plus or minus.

The rear has plenty of clearance for both, but requires removal of the dropout limit screws to slam the hub all the way back.

Dia-Compe or Weinmann 750s will do the trick. I use them with Kool Stop Dura 2 cartridge pads and have no complaints about their stopping power.

Seriously, when you say you prefer your rando bike over any of your road bikes, is this a rando bike with all the trimmings (bag, rack, fenders, lights etc) or a uncluttered bike with a low trail rando geometry?
