Just heard only one rider - Greg Gleason - made it to the first checkpoint. 40 degrees and pouring rain. And he kept going. Man's game.

The high is about 50 but that is a damp and cold 50. Standing water everywhere, no sun and 100% humidity. Tons of respect, but I will be warm and dry at a Brand New concert.

Is there a time limit to the first checkpoint?
I know a guy that does it every year. I think he was 2nd once. Last year broke his chain repeatedly and eventually ran out of repairs near the finish > dnf. Tough event even in good conditions. |

Think I read that ride report. I have a buddy doing it this year; I think his fourth.

Yes, Sarah Cooper, who is very fast at these and wins, missed T1 by 20 minutes. Tough course.

Thanks. I did. It was more hot and sweaty than warm and dry but well worth it.
