I think most of these papal gifts either go into a museum or are sold and the proceeds given to charity. I remember reading about this somewhere. Athletes give popes gifts like this often.

Yes True same with the bike Peter Sagan gave which was later auctioned off

Also shouldn't the brand name be replaced by the athlete's country name in Latin?

The bike pictured with Bernal sold for 14,000 Euro, approx $15,000. Seems like a good deal.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that they asked: "Your Holiness, would you prefer rim or disk brakes?" His response was "WWCR?" So they went with rim.

Not really sure why the Pope needs brakes anyways...

I would imagine you just ride down a hill, miraculously going the right speed and gently stop at the bottom. [shrug]
