5am sessions on groomed and ungroomed trails here. So much fun. My Pugs still getting it done (last year).

This year, I’ve got a bike build with fenders. I’ll incorporate more road rides this winter into the mix.

As long as it’s a shoe cover and not toe covers.

I would get either oversocks or an overshoe for riding into the 40s and 50s. It’s not so much the ambient temperature than the wind that will make your toes cold.

Below that and it gets complicated, for me at least. Winter cycling boots for the 30s. Boots plus neoprene overshoes for below freezing. Add toe warmers as it gets even colder. Thin wool socks doubled up with toe warmers sandwiched in between for the coldest conditions.

Many many miles and years of trial and error and suffering to get the correct combo of layers for every condition..
