Bent RD hanger on Ottrott

After a crash yesterday (non drive side) the rear shifting became sluggish when moving up the cassette from smaller cogs.

When I got home I looked at the chain line and it definitely didn't look right. Though I can't explain how it would have occurred, my guess is that the RD cage is bent but I have to allow for the possibility that it could also be the hanger.

It's pretty clear that the hanger isn't replaceable, so does that mean trusting it to a skilled frame maker to straighten things up? This is an Ottrott GS, FWIW.

thanks

Not really, that thing is Titanium and im zero experience with Ti frames but if that behaves like steel or even aluminum I do not see the problem to get that back where it should.

Small adjustable wrench, tight the Hanger and start pulling slowly into place.

Once you have that eye balled, you use the RD hanger gauge tool to get the last touches. Or use the rear wheel technique that was posted a few days ago.

Again Im not familiar with titanium ok?

Assuming the rear der isn't the actual problem, cold setting ti hangers is doable and takes more patience/time than a steel hanger. Alum has a very low tolerance for moving. If it moves a lot, replace it, if it moves a little, replace it but you can straighten it and it will be weaker and/or compromised.

Take it to a shop and or use the Park DAG (derrailleur alignment guage) to see if/how it's bent. Use the DAG tool to bend it back into place, don't use an adjustable wrench unless you have to. You don't need to send it to a framebuilder.

Ti hangers are very resilient and usually don't bend in a crash so make sure it's not the derailleur. If it's the hanger, adjust based on any multitude of youtube videos (park has good ones). Ti is tricky in that it has a "memory" so you can move the hanger into the correct position and a few minutes later it will slowly move back into the bent position. In that case, using small adjustments, overcorrect so that it will slowly shift back into the correct position.
