I have become partial to tan sidewalls especially the Challenge Strada Pro tires which seem to last a very long time and don't get grimy looking like a Veloflex.

I had some carbon disc Shamals to put on my gravel bike but they were just too pretty for that use. I may reconsider.

I love my Holland. It's older so 30mm tires is the max tire size but it works for me.

I am in the 'tan walls almost never look bad ever' group personally.

But even better if tan/brn bar tape and saddles if we are decorating...

Tan sidewalls are so passé in 2024.
Black will look more modern and classic.
But it's your bike. Make it yours.

I have tan sidewalls on Neutrons on a Hampsten Ti SB. I'll take a picture. It looks hot.

Here it is when owned by a prior owner.

And from the original owner:

I would consider if the bike is going to see rain or not. Tan walls are not going to look as pretty with some pad gunk washing into them...

Tan walls TI and black wheels is my favorite combo, in case you need more inspiration:

I run all tanwalls.

That said, what speaks to you? Go with it.

Not quite all ti, but still a ti bike. I'm all in on tan sidewalls with the exception of the old Pave CG green.

Here's what I'm thinking. Tanwalls look great with silver wheels (rims and spokes). One of my bikes, a Bertoletti Sella Ronda has these and with Brooks brown saddle and leather tape, it's da bomb.

The Shamal wheels are black and my evolving view is that black tires on black wheels will have a simple elegance paired with titanium frame.

Thanks for your comments!

My old 1996 Litespeed Classic on Shamals and black tires. It was a nice winter day yesterday (2/6/2024) Not a trace of brown on this ti bike.
