Nah, that sucks!...

I’ve ridden to and around Santa Paula, very beautiful! Ate lunch in some restaurant in a car dealership. Could have been Fillmore, been a few years now.

We would buy in Oxnard, not Ventura. Close to or in the Seabridge Marina. Definitely not Bakersfield...

The areas we have looked at in and around The Colony at Mandalay Bay and Seabridge Marina are pretty amazing. At Seabridge they built an entire planned community in and around a marina. Tons of walking paths, shops, stores, etc. Some homes and townhomes with their own docks go for well over a million.

Yeah, prices are substantially less across the street. No Mello-Roos either. The house we are looking at is 6 doors down from Victoria, right by Wolsey. Across the street from the Vons shopping center. The same house in the 310 area code would be 4 times the price and probably not as nice.

Wooley.. yeah that's the right side of the street. Very nice marina indeed. I have some high school friends up the road a little on Nantucket. My bro still lives in the old family home on Pleasant Valley near Saviers.. You dont want to move there.

I lived all around those parts, Port Hueneme, Hollywood beach, Camarillo, The Keys close to the harbor, up in the hills above downtown, next to the college, I moved a lot.....

If you want to ride from your house the area you are looking at isn't the best but I did ride from their for years. It is about 8 miles up Harbor Blvd, through the keys and then beach path to downtown Ventura and from there you can head up the coast or to Ojai. If I moved back I would try to stay in Ventura though.

It has been about 12 years since I moved though. I have not been on a group ride in a long time. Didn't realize Covid had stopped them. I loved going on those Saturday and Sunday rides. I may still know a couple people riding in that area, they might be able to introduce you to some people. PM me if interested.

I grew on on the wrong side of the street.. no harm intended, I have much love for the wrong side, but I've seen it all. All does not need to see.

My thought was to cut out that stretch and just drive to the Keys and start riding from there. Those 8 miles look really boring and uninspiring. As for staying in Ventura, our dollar goes a lot farther in Oxnard. The areas we looked at in Ventura ( that we could afford ) were kind of sketchy.

Thanks for the offer! I may hit you up at some point.

Channel Island Bike club says all rides are cancelled.
