Yeah that Ultegra Di2 bike for $5200 is going to make a lot of people happy.

also just looking at the spesh website

the s works ethos frame, at $5200 is sold out in most colors and the more popular sizes.

so the nay sayers here can keep talking but seems like a good move on spesh part.

The non S-works version of this seems like it will sell pretty well, and probably is a very good bike, but once you take away the ultra lightweight frame, It's hard for me, even as a person really into bikes, to clearly differentiate this from the tarmac.

I don't think that the community here judges a bicycle based on its commercial success. I am glad this bike is doing well, it looks nice

The Aethos 10r frame set is $3,200 white or black. I’m into it.

Seems like with bikes keeping threaded BBs, cooler heads have prevailed (see what I did there)?
Finally, the big manufacturers (S. and Trek) have started designing them out and admitted the design failure they are...

Again my complaint

These models are so bland when it comes to paint. I guess that is kind of Specialized's thing - 1 dominant color with matte finish but with so many amazing painters available you would think they could get something a little less - "ugh".

I think the paint jobs are great. Simple but nice.

Also so not a thing with Specialized. Have you seen the Allez sprint bikes? They have some really nice paint jobs and most very un ordinary.

Paint is heavy, and more elaborate designs require more paint. It's not surprising they'd want to keep their lightweight frame light with a simple paint scheme.

Dang I feel like Specialized’s current colors and finishes are about three years ahead of everyone else.

I suppose at the real upper end of the models this is even more true. Credit to them then I guess for not plastering Logos everywhere.

Still don't like most of the paint colors/finishes. I would rather straight black. Although the darker blue is not too bad.

Excellent. I hope the ride quality is high level. This seems like a possible 2020 replacement for my 2000s Look 585s.
