Looking for advice re selling

Hi, all.
Am new to the Forum. Am digging in and ferreting out advice within the Forum re selling.
Please feel free to advise me, or direct me to past threads that may have been most helpful to you.
Biggest questions at the moment:
• Should I try to sell a gorgeous, mint, carbon bike as a complete, with the possibility of parting-out, or stick to one or the other for starters?
• What about a couple of lovely vintage bikes?
• Best to describe and post photos here and eBay and CraigsList? And elsewhere?
• What is best way to determine best pricing, other than looking at comparables here and on eBay?
Thanks!
Cheers,
rg

Start here. From there, my advice is to get to know the place and the people a bit before you try to sell something. In the meantime, welcome!

Also, as a newbie...

As I understand it, I cannot post items in TPF (TPLF?) 'till I've been a member for a month, but am I allowed to describe items in forum threads, and point to listings on eBay and CL? Thanks! Cheers, rg

Is there a Blue Book type pricing database...

Is there a Blue Book type pricing database for previously-owned bikes -- both vintage and current? [How about for vintage parts?]

Familiarize yourself with the operations, protocol, and characters here first.

There's alot to learn about bikes, people, and life in the General Discussion area.

I feel bad for people who come here solely to buy/sell, that's only such a small part of this forum.

Spend some time talking about your experiences on/off the bike in General Discussion for a while... but you sound so anxious to sell. I guess it's up to you what you want to get out of being a member here...

Whether or not this is "legal" (and I believe it is not) it would surely be considered poor form. It is also splitting hairs. Are you a lawyer?

Welcome to the Forum, even if you are.

Hi benitosan1972

Hi benitosan1972-san!
Mea culpa. I am here for more than selling. I am here for community. And sharing. And learning. I arrived at the Forum today while seeking different points-of-view re the new bikes I'm currently considering. Then realized it might be a great network/means for thinning the collection.
Thank you.
Cheers,
rg

Hi Louis,

Nope. Far from it.

Thank you for your note. And kindly directive re form, "good" being the operative type of which I aspire to maintain, here, especially.

Cheers!

Benito-san-san

Benito-san-san,
Not anxious.
Just of the realization:
• With the unofficial start of summer upon us (Happy Memorial Day!), that I am a month or two behind schedule.
-- and --
• The sooner I find new homes for one or two of my belovéd bikes, the sooner I can take some substantive actions re my next belovéd bike.
Am very definitely looking forward to hearing new perspectives, here.
And, always have a few zillion questions re bikes and respective bits.
Cheers!

The Collection

Hi Louis,
The collection...
Ha!
Am actually trying to change my mindset and go from having a bunch of bikes, to having one bike, as yet unspecified. I have to believe that it is possible to have one bike for: city, general tooling about, and bona fide touring.
'Touring', for me, defined as:
• 7 to 90 days
not carrying tent or sleeping bag
• locally, regionally, or far, far away
• probably most oft referred to as 'credit card touring', despite the unfortuante nomenclature. [What is the opposite of misnomer?]
So, if you, Louis, could have only one bike, what would it be, and why?
Cheers,

Red face

I wouldn't be offended if she sells her bike(s) now,
So she can get what she really wants... which is???
Maybe introduce yourself, tell us about yourself, bikes,
likes, and such. Doesn't have to e right here, interject
wherever's/whenever's appropriate or feels right as you
peruse. I get excited web someone's excited to get a new
bike, but you don't wanna know what some people ride here,
costs 3-10x more than my car, lol. I get depressed being so
poor here, but it's nice to see what toys the big boys get, I think.

What are you selling, and what do you hope to buy?

Also, there's alot of members here from/in Colorado, seems like a solid bike community much like Portland, Austin, NY, CA, etc etc

benito-san-san,
I know the details of what I want, more than what 'it' is, specifically.
I'll winnow down the list of elements I'm looking for; or, at the very least, prioritize them.
And then, shall look forward to the ideas of others, re what fits the bill.
Cheers,
