This paint scheme has been tormenting me for months. I've had this thread open is a separate tab in my browser for a while now, and keep clicking back to it thinking, "I should send my Pronto to Bill McDonald (who probably painted this originally) and have it painted in this paint scheme." The thought being to have the last model in the lineage of this frame to leave the factory, painted in arguably the hottest fade paint scheme to ever grace a Serotta. But there is just something about the fade and the skinny tubes that makes this bike look just so perfect.

thanks for the feedback and words, all. I'll consider the black HS for the future.

@happycamper that sounds like an awesome idea. Pretty sure the Pronto would look amazing in it, or any other fade for that matter. I'd say go for it!

I've already convinced myself that, if/when the time comes to order a custom, modern frame, I'm going all out with the paint job. Probably not exactly the same as this, but definitely a neon fade of some sort.

Now spinning on Veloflex Masters.

First ride: not bad at all. We'll see how these hold up.

My favorite Serotta fade, ever. The Masters are great tires—I bet that machine rides beautifully.

If I didn't love the raw ti that my pronto is, I'd have thought about that for it as well..

However, I've been chewing on sending my bedford to bill to have this treatment...

more so, I'm hoping NRV will get sick of it at some point and sell it to me

Thanks, guys.

@happycamper the Masters are indeed feeling pretty good. Happy with the change.

@Nooch that raw / white Pronto looks lovely as-is. I would definitely not mess with it.

I don't foresee getting sick of this one in the near future.

Fantastic looking bike, I saw it locked up when I was in NYC back in march of 2014, and it merited taking a picture.

On the topic of headset, if you did CK sour apple HS and BB it might look amazing and pick up the green in the logos...

My favorite Serotta fade of all time.

I've contacted several painters in a quest to find one who would paint a CSi like that, but apparently the newer neon paint forumulas are prone to fading, and the painters I've spoken to are reluctant to try to replicate that paint job. Take good care of it, my friend.
