I was there! Not as bad as 2014 but close. Middle third of course was the bad part. I went from 2:20 to 3:05. I was at P2P also. weather was great there. I sucked. See you at Barry Roubaix?

I've never done Barry. Don't have a gravel bike. I've ridden some of the course with a buddy on my mtb. He lives in east Grand Rapids. What class did you race at Peak? I did Sport 50-52. On my 26er. Finished in 1hr, 48 minutes. Where are you located?

Riding dirt is fun and will make you a better rider on the road.
When I hit a lip at 28mph and double pinch flatted I am sure I didn’t go down hard because the weekend before i spent two days doing lift assisted downhill |

Fun course. I've done it many times.. You could do Barry on a mtn bike. It's a little slower if it's dry out. Like last year. Have you done Mud Sweat and Beers or my hometown race, The Bear Claw? Both worth the drive up. |

Wow, my brother lives in Cadillac! ! My buddy and I are planning to do mud sweat and beers next year. And hopefully a few others as well as peak again. Will have to look into the Bear claw. I did a lot more mtb riding this season compared to the last few and really enjoyed it. I'm in Muskegon.

I got a cheapo Magene from eBay a few months ago (~$20). Works great. I think the Wahoo Tickr is about $50. I'm not sure how accurate in an absolute sense the computed calorie numbers are, but I presume they are relatively useful to compare the workload between two rides. Good enough for my needs.

Can you hook up the HRM to free Strava or only to paid membership? Trying to figure out how much this is going to cost me. I know they changed their plan recently.

And pretty plots on my 'puter: On my phone, when Strava tells me my ride is ready to review, I can also see a plot of heart rate over time: Are you looking for more than that? I'm sure there's more should I wish to pay for it |

I've been a dirt convert since the mid-nineties and will celebrate turning 72 this month in our local mountains bike park.
I will ride to the park avoiding as much road as I can and thinking about the three road deaths that occurred this month. A couple of days this week I will do our Y road ride.
