Medici Pro Strada

I'm planning on riding the L'Eroica California this and have been putting a bike together on the "cheap". Got the f/f/hs for $200. Most of a campy record kit from Citizen Chain closing sale for about $180. Built some Pacenti Brevet 32h 3x this weekend and am suddenly excited about the project. My brother gave me some Compass Cayuse Pass tires and had the Nitto Noodle bars lying around. I know people think the frames are mediocre but I love the great space coaster decals and the weird sordid California history of the brand.

I'd be excited about that. It's going to look great. Especially if you can hunt down yellow cables...

I rode one I bought used here years ago.
It was a great riding bike.
Enjoy!

Sweet frame! (That was a steal for 200 Clams ! Good job!) Can't wait for the final build and ride report.

What is that about a 55 or 56 c-t-c seat tube?

Medici Pro Strada

I had a Pro Strada for a few years and it was a fantastic bike. Be sure to post up some pics as you make some progress. Stoked for you, enjoy!

Nice, I've heard nothing but good things about these and have been trying for years to land on locally. The few that have showed up have sold before I could act. I think you've got quite a nice bike there!

Finally got it finished. Was weird to be back on skinny tires after riding 35c tires for the last year and a half. Felt nice and simple, responsive and a little twitchy. All of which kept me on my toes for riding riding in the notoriously pot holed roads of Sonoma County.

Build is pretty much period correct Campy SR except for crankset/bb/freewheel. Velo Orange Grand Cru, plus a Suntour 6 touring speed freewheel.

Rode well on test ride and only had to tweak FD out limit a bit. Really didn't want yellow tape but I had some lying around. Will ultimately put black Fizik 2mm microtex on it.

I dig it, looks like it turned out well. And personally I'm loving the yellow tape.

Still liking it.

Hard to argue with a flite. I might go with natural tan cork tape, myself.

Very nice! My buddy had a black sparkly Medici (like bass fishing boat sparkly) and it was an awesome frame

It sure looks great and I think the yellow bar tape looks great too. What I am interested in is tell me about how you modified a super record derailleur to accept a long cage, is it off a campy rally derailleur?
Have fun.

Thanks all - fun ride for sure. Soma Fab sells a Nuovo Retro long cage to fit old SR derailleurs. That's what I used . Easy to install and works flawlessly so far.
