How is the Tuchel Derby still tied 0-0? Two of the most comedic defenses left...

That Atletico LFC match is, umm, a bit unexpected. Really time to bring on the Ox and have him take a crack outside the box. Final score 1-1 I think?

There's always been this injury exception in Spain and typically its a lower to mid table small budget team picking up a backup from one of the top 6 to fill in for losing a key piece.. It's only getting picked up now in the news because Barca is using it.

I can see them changing the rules with enough local outcry this summer, but it seems to me that this is a more popular rule with smaller clubs as they lack the budget to have the same depth as the major players

Why are Haaland and Minamino not cup-tied in the Champions League?

Have the rules changed recently, or was it always thus?

Yet another thing for which you can thank Barça and Phil (in addition to allowing you to sign CVD and Becker)

I’ll say, Håland’s 2nd goal was glorious.

Also, Atletico have some true s***housers ranking only second to Juve. All that exaggerated tripping over is really unbecoming...

Hope you guys smash them at Anfield

@wc1934, I hope you enjoyed that strike!

also, rather hilarious that Lampard has benched Kepa in favor of Caballero. Some 80M euros spent, and he's playing second fiddles this year after auditioning for the role of manager last year. Funny football money and all that...

San Sebastian has always been on my "to visit" list. Of course, Madrid has the Prado, etc, but there's certain charm to a seaside town.

Yup - with that goal Mertens tied Hamsik as Napoli’s top scorer (121 goals).
Talk about money - Lozano watched the game from the stands - most expensive signing in Napoli's history wasn't even on the bench.

Three-nil; three-nil

That's a surprise. I don't recall the last time LFC played this poorly in the league.

Of course, rise and fall of empires and all that, but damn, they were beaten by straight up Route 1 football.

I know there's a Watford fan here on paceline; hope you enjoyed that!

I did. Still a long way to go but Pearson is a very good manager & frankly Villa/Norwich/Bournmouth are arguably worse, so there is hope.

Levy lost his marbles when he decided to let Eriksen run down his contract. Then in a further stroke of genius, hired Mou on 15 Mil per annum

Unbelievable...

But in the mean time, best cheese room in the Premier League!

No horse in this race, but Llorente is one cool customer. I was yelling take it, take it, but he was patient, waited and struck it beautifully.
