Di2 Wire Holders - Uselsss???

Shimano claims its to prevent the wires from rattling when internally routed. They are basically glorified zip ties and seems like most of the time they aren't used even with OEM builds. So, does anyone know how they are supposed to stop rattling since they seem to be harder plastic than the wire insulation themselves?

They are long and flexible, so they keep pressure on the inside of the tube and don't rattle themselves. I still don't use them on my own builds, but they work as intended.

this video shows the install

I think the idea is that the long loose ends of the wire zip ties act as a spring and are supposed to steady the wire inside the tube. And if the zip length is longer than the diameter of the frame tube I can see how it should/would work just fine. But maybe not. At 6 minutes and 30 seconds in this vid:

I've seen it recently on an older sl6 and it seemed to do the trick. I often do not see completes with it, but also am not always digging through the di2 wires looking for potential issues.

That and to save a few pennies. LOL
