You have to leave MMA earlier
In my opinion it's more about being on the trail and feeling "safer" from cars, along with the belief that it's a "bike path" and non-cyclists shouldn't be on it. The PMC is a charity ride with many first timers who have never ridden in groups like this before. There should be more education, for sure.
