Yeah it's definitely not super minty, but I appreciate that its a newly built frame from this decade, with classic features. I will probably ride the bike as is for the time being, then put on 11s campy parts, and sell the 10s components. I know I definitely don't wanna be grinding on those 52/42s. I'll throw in a nice leather saddle and some nitto, and I think it would sit right at home

Bought it at a yard sale. They already had it marked down since they didn't want to take it with them when they moved, but I talked 'em down a bunch more. Bad brakes, non-aero cables, ugly bar tape, clamp on derailleur, missing a water bottle cage. Tires are shot. Just a bike to knock around town. It's just a beater bike.

ooh harsh haha. Honestly couldn't find much info about it other than that blogpost.

*Edit: just realized angry and Reuben were playing along with the girlfriend thing. LOL. For a moment, thought I got a bad deal.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be harsh. I was just continuing along the lines of Angry's comment, humorously dismissing concerns from a significant other that it was a NEW bike taking up space:

Maybe I've lead a sheltered life, but I've never been in a bike shop that had shopping carts. Is this a big box retailer?

Wife has been wanting some carbon hoops for her R5 and was about ready to order some BTLOS when these popped up on FB marketplace. Price was too good to pass up. Gen 2 3.4 Disc with CK hubs.

I was helping my neighbor setup his friend's new full sus bike a week ago and said that I had serious tool envy and if his Knipex wrench/pliers went missing, I didn't steal them.

He stopped by today with a little package wrapped by his daughter. It was a brand new pair of these!

Definitely one of the coolest unexpected gifts I've ever received.

Picked up a current model Ritchey WCS road fork for a custom frame to be built around ~30mm tyres. Fork clearances are to spec, this is a 30mm measured tyre and comfortably 4mm all around, I'd say slightly more.

Actual caliper clearances on those I've tried (older gen Shimano and Campagnolo) are less in places but not enough to be an issue, and I've not tried latest gen nor EE-Brakes yet.
