Need new helmet - Lumos Ultra on Kickstarter?

Anybody looking into this?
Lumos Ultra on Kickstarter

Looks like this is the 2nd edition.
Some folks here apparently bought the first release and seemed quite happy with it.

Any update and additional thoughts after 4 years?

I bought the original and am happy with it. Doesn't seem like there's any degradation in how it works. I don't use some of the functions, such as turning signals. I just use it in the blinking mode. I use it frequently with no issues. Long battery life in that mode (more than 5 hours). I think that the other modes may use more battery. Good for solo riding and getting you noticed by cars.

signed up for one and stoked that they'll have an all-reflective option now. not trying to win any style points on winter commutes in the dark, and appreciate the extra light and any added visibility I can get without being toooo Fred.

I admit the original one seemed too ugly, too expensive, and too gimmicky to buy at the time. they've improved on all three counts, and longer rides to work have shifted my attitude on some things..

FYI they now have a referral program for bonus credit to spend on merch and part of the Kickstarter, so worth asking a friend for their link if you know someone already backing it.

Can you PM me a referral link? I am thinking about ordering a MIPS version.

PM'd - a bit wary as I didn't intend for that last bit to be a solicitation for referrals, but happy to send my link along unless/until the mods say otherwise. doesn't seem strictly at odds with the rules, but perhaps in spirit..

Question for those who has it, is the turn signal yield good visibility during day time?

Wow, almost $2,000,000 raised already. It's a bit dorky looking, to be sure, but reasonably priced and a great idea for a product.

I have the original and love. I would say turn signal definitely visible in day time.

I'd be down for one if it came with a flip-down face shield.
I find that feature a must for riding in the cold and snow.

Agh - I'm somewhat tempted, but I already get enough grief with my existing helmet. Getting one with turn signals might cause some unforseen social distancing.....

lumos has most market share

but I like Torch
and Livall- which has built in bluetooth for music and phone calls with abiity to hear ambient sound/ noise
Lumos drawbacks: magnetic charge dock is finicky
My first Lumos on/off button broke
I still bought 2 more
and 2 more Livalls
I use them all
All have pros and cons

Another thing to charge for your bike? garmin, phone, di2, and now add your helmet. I'm running out of outlets. Is the battery located inside the foam? It seems insane to make the battery non-replaceable.

Also the guy in the promo video looks like he has the worst bike fit in history?

I support anyone being safe and buying this though! Being safe is cool.
