Just heard the news also. Ugh.

My Granddad was a trucker and when I was little I'd get to go on short day runs with him and Charlie Daniels was a regular blaring out of the 8 track player.

RIP.

Cdb

Fond memories of hanging out in my early teens with a whole group of friends listening to CDB and other country rock............I think I even saw them live in concert a few times, would have to go through my pile of ticket stubs to confirm.

CDB, Boone’s Farm, MD 2020, cheap beer..........good times long gone.......

RIP and thanks for the music

During college in 1995 my roommate and I drove a few hours into further upstate NY to see him play the Buckwheat Festival in Penn Yan. Of course, we were stupid and thought he'd do an afternoon set then we could get back to campus to booze the night away ... well, he only had a night set so we boozed the afternoon away, won a goldfish by throwing a ping pong ball into a small dish, possibly got hypnotized by a stage performer, and had a great time at the CDB show.

Hell of a performer. RIP

So long Charlie! Folks...find the entire video performance of the 1975 Volunteer Jam with CDB, Marshall Tucker, Richard Betts, and other greats. The quality of the vid isn't good but the music is incredible.
