If you decide to add some red parts make sure they are all very similar red because deep red on one part and orangey red on another will look awful.

Id black out the red parts of the frame should be easy enough considering its only on the inside of the fork and rear triangle. Put on a black saddle. Get tan sidewalled tires and your good to go .) To much distractions with the red bits, just a black bike with nice wheels/tires making the frame pop a bit more. Infact i will be doing something very similar to a black cross with green and yellow accents in the coming week.

Why not 650B? Buy something that'll really change the character of that bike!
Yeah, I'd get some 650B wheels and a set of fast 42mm tires. ..And if visuals count I'm not feeling that red detail on the seat. Ed |

Two options IMO:
1) sparingly sprinkle some red throughout the bike. something like top cap, seat clamp and chainring bolts. spoke nipples if you want, though I'd be way too lazy to do that. 2) embrace the black and reinforce it with some minor accents - all black saddle, black out the columbus logo on the fork and whatever is near the dropouts, de-logo your stem. Play up some matte/glossy contrasts where necessary. Maybe a bar tape in dark gray to offset the Asylum logo and the outer edge of the Force big ring. Whatever you decide to do, I think your bike would look better with larger tires than what is in the photo. Something 32ish would probably fill out the proportions better. If you go skinwall, I would be wary of the more yellowy-orangey tones against the red and go with something more brownish |

I like the dark side thing. Probably could Star Wars it up, but will have to see what I have to play with. Thanks...but I like your bike better. |

You need these cages the Muffin Man is selling here https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ight=blackburn and the red highlighted 3T stem, a tire change, done!

But yes, tires first! (But you've already addresses that.) If you want to try experimenting with pinstriping and the like, http://www.monokote.com/trim.html sells tape kits made for model airplanes that are relatively easy to work with. I've also seen lettering sticker kits for Cannondale that are one giant sticker with colored letters on clear backing. I wonder if you could do a custom one of those for "ASYLUM" with a fade yellow-to-orange-to-red color scheme. I'm seeing kind of a Stinner aesthetic. |
