Is van Vleuten the next Vos? Looks similar the way they both were/are so much better than everyone else, and in more than one discipline (climbing & TT mainly, but maybe sprinting as well). The gap between both ladies (in what appears to be their primes) and the competition is amazing sometimes.
But we might have said that about Anna van der Breggen as well.

I would guess they are Scott running shoes.

I think Vos was/is much more versatile. She ruled all year long from January to December on the road and in the mud and when she set goals she also won on the track. Van Vleuten only started at 28 (note that Vos is 4 years younger than Van Vleuten) and since a few years she lost weight and she knows how to set goals: in 2016 the Olympics, in 2017 the Giro Rosa (but lost too much time in one flat stage) and the rainbow jersey, in 2018 the Giro Rosa and she will build up to the worlds again. But not all year round and at 35 she's running out of time.

You're correct, Vos practically dominated totally different cycling disciplines, and with van Vleuten's age her reign at the top probably won't be as long as Vos's either.
My point was focused on the road cycling. Both at their peak seem to be able to win at will. I would think AvV should be at her plateau now. She's riding strong for 35, though.

Yesterday I saw a pic from the Giro Rosa for the first time and I was surprised. Perhaps I missed it along the way but I would have thought that this would have been reported more.

Some of you may remember that at last years Giro Rosa Claudia Cretti had a crash on a fast downhill and was seriously injured and placed in a coma in the hospital. https://www.velonews.com/2017/07/new...a-crash_443007

Anyway, the pic from July 5....almost a year to the day from the crash.
