Will 10 speed triple work?

I would think yes, since the 10 spd triple (at least in Centaur) does not have the little doodad on the inside of the cage for the narrower 10 spd chain (as the regular 10 spd front does), and I think that the travel/trim would be fine.

Lets wait for the experts to chime in though...

For much of the early 10 speed era, the triple groups were 9 speed. I'd look for one of those.

If you're not picky about what group, I could probably spare something, most likely Mirage or Veloce.

Yes, and...

If using Campagnolo 8s shifters, any triple front der will work fine, even a shimano(gasp) one. Just make sure the inner cage isn't too deep otherwise the inner cage will rub on the middle(probably 42t) ring when in the big ring.
