This is precisely the food that needs to make a come back. Waaaay ahead of their time. As a kid, I loved them because they advertised the astronauts ate them in space. I only wish PowerBars were as easy to eat.

I use these Nature's Bakery Fig Bars: https://www.samsclub.com/p/fig-bars-...RoCW0sQAvD_BwE

Almost impossible to beat for the price per calorie. Hold up well in pockets. Don't really get sick of them, but do buy some other bars just for variety. Don't love 5 hours of the same type of bar.

It's been ages but I recall that I liked the 'nana flavor. Not all the time but every so often.......PB was what I used (couldn't stand cliffbars) even as a late afternoon snack prior to evening hammerfests.

I also drank Gatoraid pre-ride when temps were 95F+.

I recall those "Food Sticks" and remember really liking them at the time. Good memories!

I know the re-pop version was back on the market a few years ago, but it looks like they're not around anymore.

I used to plow through Stinger Waffles then I read the ingredients- Pretty much all of the waffles have 9 grams of palm oil fat. I know it’s energy food, but dang, I didn’t realize my honey vanilla habit was clear cutting forests. https://www.orangutans.com.au/news-t...SAAEgKRKPD_BwE
