Kirk JKS special stainless

Just finished this build up today and grabbed a couple of quick shots. Pretty much how I'm going to leave it for now until I can actually ride it. I'll likely swap the saddle for a berthoud or Brooks swallow and cut the extra steerer in the Spring once I get some miles on it.

Sloping vtt of 55cm with a little taller headtube. It passed the sit fit test!

Thanks! I am looking forward to getting this one out. I put off building it for a while now although I've had everything for the build. It's going to be a long winter...

JKS Special is what it's labeled. It is a 953 stainless front triangle with 853 pro chainstays and Terraplane seat stays.

I think the fit should work nicely with the stack height being a bit higher and the seat tube a bit shorter than the one that I sold you.

Interesting. I’d be curious to mock up my fit on the new one just see the difference.

The longish headtube on the Black Kirk really made it work for me. Sounds like the experimentation paid off and allowed you to find the ideal frame.

I picked this up second hand on eBay from the original owner who is a forum member here. I am pretty sure he was interested in the inox/onesto and this is what he and Dave came up with.

I think the shorter seat tube along with the taller headtube put me in a more comfortable position with a little less drop. I'll report back when I get the chance to put some miles on it.
