Great question. We knew we wanted the 44mm head tube because of the size of the downtube. Needed the surface area.

We also had this awesome new F3 fork and I have been wanting to use it on a build. An tapered Enve would also have worked here, but I loved the shape of the blades on the f3.

This is not the 20th anniversary Max lugged bike, this was a one off that I commissioned Mike to build.

Gorgeous frame and a great statement on behalf of your friend. Every time I start thinking maybe my fascination with a Max bike was something I should let go of something like your bike pushes it front of mind....

Curious, what Deda bars are those?
