Need Ideas: Narrow 'Cross Shoes?

Well, the pup ate the boas on my beloved Fizik M3b 'cross shoes and the replacements were too shallow and won't stay engaged. Rather than playing whack a mole with replacement boas I'm thinking of just getting a new set. What shoes have a low volume toe box and narrow heels? Older Sidis and Fiziks work but Giros and Lakes do not. Any other suggestions?

Do Mavics run narrow as a rule? It seems a lot of companies have been goung with wider toe boxes lately.

Not sure about that. But they quit making these a few years back, before the wider toe box trend came into play. I have a narrow foot and find them very comfortable and snug toe to heel.

Are new Fizik shoes different from the old M3b you have? Are there any NOS M3b for sale anywhere?

I'm sure this is of no help now, because more than a few years have passed, but when I was driving around shoe shopping and tried a lot of shoes, Northwave were among the very narrow, as were DMT. Sidi Genius and Carnac fit my wider feet well. But, it seems that widths have changed since then.

If you do not have local shops with at least some range, perhaps call up a bike shop(s) like Comp Cyclist etc that sells a lot of different brands, and ask them what in the current line-ups you should be looking at now?

May want to try some lace-up Giro shoes. They're narrower than my other shoes

Lake MX 331 if you can find them. Unlike most other Lake shoes, these are great for my narrow feet and they are a cross specific shoe.

The toe box is sloppy wide on my foot... Plus they started to fall apart on the second ride.

I did some googling and...I actually owned a set of those for a couple of rides. They are sweet shoes but, once again, the toe box is wide on my foot.
Up until I stumbled onto the M3Bs, the only shoe company that I could rely on to fit (somewhat) was Sidi. Now the newer sidis have gone to a wider toe box.

Does Sidi still make narrow Dominators?

IDK. The problem is, if I go with a shoe that is specifically narrow, I can't buckle it because of my incredibly high instep.
I pretty much lurch around right now when it comes to looking for shoes. No one in my area carries much other than vanilla PIs and Specialized..... I may just go ahead and get some Doms. I'm riding a set of old ones now (the rubber lugs are worn down to the point the cleat is 1/4" above them) and they seem to fit OK...If I can find some cheap ones it'll give me time to look.

I wish Sidi would affix a rubber pad between the cleat and rear lugs. If I miss a clip now and have to catch the pedal under the arch, the material there is slick and invariably my foot skates off.

Try Gaerne. The pair I have are not as narrow as a "narrow" SIDI but definitely on the tight side, and yet it does accommodate a high instep.

How does the size (length) run in comparison to Sidis? The Sincro looks good.

Length appears consistent between the two brands, from what I can tell. Admittedly I've only had one pair of Gaernes to reference.
