Assioma Duo Shi for CX? Shimano M520/540?

The pedals are designed to be used for Shimano road pedals but - is there a compatible Shimano pedal body that is dual sided suitable for CX use? Like the M540s? I know there was the Xpedo hack but heard iffy things about that pedal.

Comment on DC Rainmaker's page "swapped the spindles between a PD-R540 and a PD-M520" was a perfect fit. Anyone else try?

Better experience clipping in and out as well!

There is some Bontrager pedal in oil slick that works as well according to 2 or 3 users on there as well.

Trivial: this is post 3,000 for me! The first one, many years ago, was posting an Eddy Merckx DA8 7-11 bike.

The Shimano PD-M520 works well with the Assioma Duo Shi spindles. Straight up swap. Comparison with P2M NGeco. Pic with other pedals to show the increased width.

Next text / research project i'm working on a solution is to find a Shimano flat pedal (with pins) for the Shi Duo conversion.
