OT - home office chairs

Need a new one.

Suggestions

- Aeron - worth the hype? Overhyped?
- Capisco by HAG - active chair? Does it work?

Anything else?

Finding myself here at this home office longer + longer and need to up my home-office game as the temporary (Emeco navy chair w/cushion + back bolster) ain't cutting it.

Love my Aeron chair, bought it new almost twenty years ago. You can find a clean used on on CL for $400-$500. Strongly recommended.

Lots of people use gamer chairs for home office chairs.

If I weren't on an Aeron, I'd want to be sitting on a Recaro....but *those* are expensive, and frankly, look like they work better in cars than in offices.

Oh, and a standing desk might be a good purchase ahead of a new chair...just saying...

When this "thing" started and I was working from home with wife doing schoolwork we needed chairs. Sat in a fair amount but did not have Aeron money for 2 so we bought this> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Paid between $350 & $400 each. I much prefer mesh chairs. Not sure there is anything close at this price point. I know you get what you pay for and this is probably a 3-5 year chair.
I did put the big a$$ wheels on mine. Nice upgrade.

Aeron here; bought new ~10 years ago and worth every penny. Agree with the rec to buy 2nd hand on fb marketplace or Craigslist; good parts availability if you need anything.

I’m looking at the Steelcase Series 1 Stool for my other office.

Ha, Emeco Navy Chair… used mine for WFH for months. Classic, but not very ergonomic. I bought a Knoll ReGeneration and it’s been a good choice.

Not into Aeron’s personally. Another chair available in abundance second hand is the Steelcase Leap v2. Absolutely adore mine. It’s truly wonderful. Back pain has been gone from day number one of owning it. Bought a used one two years ago and sit in it all day every day.

Currently sitting on a Steelcase Leap Version 1 chair. Must be getting close to 20 years old and still hanging in there. The fabric has started to show some wear but other than that it works well.

I have an Aeron at home that I bought used about 10 years ago and a Mirra in the office. Both are great.
