GunksNotDead 2024
Picture heavy post warning!
For the past few years, I've gotten together with a bunch of friends at Sam Pryor Campground for a weekend of fun and suffering. Last year, the ride became known as GunksNotDead, and my friends Miggy and Ben made an event out of it. Miggy found a venue, lined up three meals a day, including lunch delivery at Minnewaska State Park. Miles of hike a bike, endless climbs, tamales from Queens, roller skating, whiskey, beer, weed, chunky descents, cuts, bruises, torn up derailleurs, destroyed free hubs, and FIRE 🔥 we burned an entire cord of wood in one weekend, one fire pit. Looks like a lot of fun! I have ridden the Minnewaska carriage roads and had an impromptu hike up the mountain with our bikes with Angry and Efixler a few years back which ended up with me getting dehydrated and passing some kidney stones the next day!

These are great Pete. I echo what Angry said. At the end of the day bikes are supposed to be fun. It's refreshing to see people simply having a good time with friends. Sorry I missed it but will hope to make it next year. - Tim
