Thanks Kevin pal, you are the one who got me started on this
One of my riding buddies saw my Garmin a few weeks ago and asked if I would like to get another one, that he got a brand new one sitting at home unused, I jumped on it. And his is the elite version that comes with all the info-data built in, that's why on some footage you would be able to see the speed, distance, gradient etc.
It's definitely getting heavier with all the gadgets on the bike but hey, I am not complaining, I know where I can lose weight

Very nice! I should look into the new Garmin your friend turned you on to but I'm sorta thinking I'd like to wait for one of the 360ยบ view cameras when they're ready for prime time. Stay tuned!

It's been a while since I've raced a bike so there was some anxiousness going into this race. I did my homework and was pretty confident with my preparation. What an absolute blast! I raced in the fat-bike division for which they didn't have any age groupings. I managed 3rd place among the fatties overall and was very pleased with my results. I can't recall ever working harder on the bike for 5 hours and 17 minutes. I left it all out there on the course.

cool race, great result, kevin pal!

Here's another one from this past Sunday. Yes, east Austin is mostly flat...but WINDY! Although the last couple of rides there had been pretty mild compared to normal conditions.

I can't recall the last time I met someone at 6:30 AM to ride but that's what I did yesterday. Shawn is new to the world of fat tires and I took him out to Murphy Hanrehan to show him around. He'll most definitely be back.

Last Sat. Ride

been raining like cats and dogs for the last couple days here in Austin, which gave me time to finish processing the video of our last group ride on Saturday before the sky started opening up and pouring...which is good...we need the rain!

I treated myself to a longish ride on my birthday last Thursday. 59 may be the age reflected on my driver's license but try telling that to the kid in me. I hope to never grow up and act my age.

That looks like a fun bday ride! I try to get my "bday ride" in the summer when it's warm. I hate riding in the in the cold (bad blood circulation) so February is not much of an option for me in Chicago. Happy belated!

Thanks, Beta Hat -- you may want to consider the world of winter fat-bike riding. I'm actually looking forward to the cold and snow in ways I never used to.
