Silca refunded the purchase price of the Asymetrico and told me to keep it. I offered to send it back so it’s design people can look at it. Silca is great, but this bag is no go, especially if you want to use it on a gravel bike or MTB, or you ride on rough road surfaces. The Arundel bags I recommended are simple and great for a repair kit. I will be using an Arundel with a Voile strap as extra security on my gravel bike. I was a big Arundel Tubi fan until I converted to ILE. I just bought a nice Andrew the Maker saddle bag. Nearly identical to the ILE but you can pick your fabrics.

My experience with every saddle bag that I have owned is that they have a limited lifespan. Wear and tear seams to get to all of them eventually, even though I RARELY actually get into the bag. Must be the constant micro jostling with every pedal stroke and bump in the road. Just have not seen any features or benefits that would make me pay that much. Speedsleev in whatever size you need has been my go to lately, with Lezyne playing backup. |

i was in a similar position and ended up going for the Orucase. I have both the SB25 and SB30. very easy to use. The Voile strap makes it super easy to switch between bikes. with the SB25, I can actually fit a multi tool, road tube and 2x tyre levers. I try to avoid anything with a velcro, after the strap from my old Topeak bag wore a hole on my favourite pair of bibs within a few hours. Last edited by caneye; 04-14-2021 at 10:11 PM. |

Voile straps are greater than all other attachment methods (particularly cinch straps and boas). They are more secure AND easier to get on and off. Count me among the happy outershell users...

For most of my rides, I need one bottle...there are water stops...so https://www.jensonusa.com/Elite-Byas...or-Bottle-Cage
Every year, I must see 2 or 3 riders with their bag unzipped and going 15 mph down the road... when I do need a second bottle, go with a handlebar bag...it is 2021. |

I put the tube under my mtb saddle as well. I used thin bungee cord. For dirt, etc I just put the tube in a zip lock sandwich bag.

Hey Nick I've been using the Topeak Aero wedges for years, love them becasue they are reasonably priced (I find them on Ebay) and more importantly they make 4 sizes. The Micro might be the best bet for you, that's the one I use for the basics. But I have each size for various types of rides because for example when I go camping and do long solo rides in the boonies I use the size large becuase it will hold everything you need for the potential of multiple flats. Simple design, bombproof including the zips. Because of the shape they just disappear, you don't even know they are there when riding, even the large. Best.

Not sure if they've been suggested, but https://www.arundelbike.com/product-category/bags/
As small as you like them. I have two of the Duo. Work well |

Looks like the OP has made a purchase, but I’ll add my voice to the chorus of Arundel Uno and Duo fans. I’ve had the former on a road bike since 2015, the latter on a gravel bike since 2017, both still in excellent shape through many thousands of miles. Uno fits a 700c tube, levers, small mini tool, CO2 cartridge and inflator for me.
