Speaking of rebooted classic brands...Cook Bros. Racing
The thread on American Classic reminded me that the Cook Bros. Racing brand was supposed to be revitalized by American BMX Company after purchasing rights to the name last winter.

I had some Cook Brothers cranks on a Cannondale MTB. They were pretty cool looking. The frame pretty well sucked.

Mine would not stay tight on the spindle.
But they looked cool. |

Classic BMX market has gone crazy $$ wise since the pandemic.. This is probably a sign of that I'm guessing. Cook Bros. made great frames, hubs, basically invented the aheadset, and then got into MTB. Current parentage is Race, Inc, another old school BMX brand.

I have a cook bros ti bb in my old brodie. The cups are seized in really tight, fortunately, the bearings are replaceable without removing the cups, which is also the issue with it there is minimal sealing from the elements.
Agree about the crank, they wallowed out way to easily if not treated with kid gloves and care. They were also really wide. |

I had some Cooks BMX and MTB cranks that thankfully never cracked. But who remembers the story? Didn't they split and two companies formed back in the day allowing both to produce similar/same products?

my buddy had a Boone Ti cassette. I had the titanium helix bottom bracket. It was shaped like a drill bit. Great, glad to hear they are back.
