Yeah, but doing it this way shortens the useful life of the helmet. Sure it's built to withstand a drop to the pavement. ONCE. Dropping your helmet, tossing it around, letting it get smacked around reduce the life & effectiveness of it when you need it most.

Just purchased a Sram one from a member who commented on here...

I've seen it in person and know it's "not too big, not too small" for what I need. Lots of good choices it seems for anyone else that comes across this looking for a bag. I'm a fairly organized person. It's easy and convenient having compartments for different gear, I've been left frustrated rummaging through a bag with everything in one big ball...I drive to ride quite a bit as well so it's something that's definitely an 'issue' especially if scrambling to get everything for a group ride that's rolling out '5 min ago'..

Picked up one of those Mountainsmith bags today from REI, in red. $58!

As an alternative for a really tough bag (not necessarily for bikeage) check out Go Ruck. Outstanding quality. After buying a carryon made by them for me a few years ago, my daughter bought a larger one for a diaper bag. Bulletproof.

I've had a ILE Race day Bag for a few years now and really like it. Lots of pockets for all the stuff you need when going to a ride or race and a separate pouch to put wet or dirty clothes in afterwards. Can also put shoes in the helmet pouch if your wearing your helmet or have the helmet strapped to the bag.

The Rapha bag is a bit pricey and looks a touch small for what I'd like.

I quite like the mountainsmith one, I wish it was more rectangular with different straps but it's got what I'm looking for as far as features

The Trek bag is really clean, it's small as well though...and has trek logos on it..

I like the BLS Veloracing bag a lot, might be a winner. A tad tiny as well though.

If I wind up needing a bag for cycling stuff and normal carry on stuff as well the ILE bag seems ideal, I like the backpack straps as well.

I’ve been very happy with these bags from http://www.cat5gear.ca. Well made and great for tossing into the car. I bought a few in different colors for me, my wife, and kid, with the understanding that each rider is responsible for their bag and I will load it and the bikes. Had them for 3years or so with no issues.

Not cycling specific but I just got a couple duffels from Patagonia and they are great. Exceptionally well made and quite handsome.
