The last time we rented bikes on a tour in Netherlands, my wife got an electric Raleigh. We were riding the trails in the dunes at the Nord Zee coast and when she would accelerate to pass riders, I was laughing because I would have to work to catch her.
I could see that bike in the commercial actually win the race.

There is a fellow who is local to me who builds e-bikes that have achieved well over 100 mph. In NJ, there is no need to even license or insure them yet as they still fall under bicycle classification.
