Hmm.. mavic wheels are great but their service—wheel balancing and oiling— is kinda annoying.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but as colorful as that frame is, I'd stick with black spokes. And go with black cages.

But then, I think I'm too picky about the aesthetics of my bikes. I've held off on certain frames because I don't like the font...

After a year, i want to give small change on my bike.

The DT 411 rims come with washers and AL squorx pro head nipples.

These are the brass versions, Pro head, without squorx shape.
https://www.dtswiss.com/en/products/...s/dt-pro-head/

Only found black version in the States, the shiny version was in Germany.

Rims do build up easily.

I've just used Sapim Secure Lock brass nipps on one or two occasions when I couldn't get the brass Squorx and the rear had to have brass nipples.

BUT gotta use the supplied washers.

I've heard nothing but good things about the DT Swiss RR 411, but as far as a replacement for the HED Belgium, the RR 411 has a rider weight limit of 110 kg. As a 6'3" Clydesdale at ~220, I'm well under that limit kitted out even this time of year, but I'd choose a bit more weight and durability. Obviously this does not apply to smaller riders, but I've beaten up a several sets of 10 speed Record laced to HED Belgium 2s, on my cross/gravel/commuter for years and they have been flawless. I'd be much more careful on this rim, especially if it would see any offroad use at all.

Revisiting an old thread

I just had a set of these built up by my LBS. They are laced to 240 hubs 20f 1x/28r2x with black DT comps and silver brass nipples. I was gonna go with HED but with the price difference and I have two sets of HED built up already. The weight is 691gr.F 845grR. I am gonna mount some 25c tires and see what they plump up to. I have a few choices laying around. Veloflex,Cont. and Vittoria.

The DT R460 is a close analogue to the HED Belgium in terms of mass and dimensions.

I just mounted a pair of Pave CG 3 tires on the DT 411 wheels. They are at 25.7mm @80psi. I will see how these hold up.
It has been a looong time since I mounted a set of clinchers.
I would rather mount a set of stretched tubulars any day of the week. A little more time consuming but so much easier.

I built a pair of 411 wheels on DT Swiss/Bontrager hubs about a year ago. Still hanging in the garage... I've got many other wheels for the 2 remaining rim-brake bikes...

Next up: re-hub those rims with more DT Swiss hubs so they'll fit the 'all disc, all the time' ethos that's coming to a garage near me

I see you're in Seoul, so to help with the language "dat" is singular; you can use "dem" or dose" as plural.

Of course, that's if you absolutely have to

I have been riding a wheelset with Record(32H), 14/15 DB Sapim spokes & 411 rims. No gravel riding but the usual potholes and broken pavement riding in the city are no big deal. At 220lbs I can't imagine a nicer riding wheelset.

https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ting+clinchers

I only ride Open Pave 27mm tires, with tubeless rim tape and holding the bead in the center channel the tires mount with finger pressure only.

I agree, this bike looks much, much better with the silver spokes. It makes the frame pop more. The black spokes were too much of a contrast against the light colored frame and was more distracting than enhancing of the look of the paint.
Nice Job
