Sorry to be late . . .

. . . to the post-ride commentary. I've had a lot of other things going on lately.

Here's a link to quite a few photos:

Lady bumblebee and I ended up with 43 miles. This was my fourth try, her first. She said she could have finished and I believe her, but she graciously cut it short and stayed with me. She kicked ass. I'm still trying to get my form back after only doing about a thousand miles last year. Getting there, but this ride is so early in the season and it is indeed a hugely tough event.

We cut it short on Mahar, headed down the hill on Frees Road, then took a right on 295 and headed back to town. We did the first two single track sections so she could get a taste of it, then skipped Hand Hollow, heading straight, then taking a left on the county road to get to the rest stop.

I've had enough of the single track on this route. Not fun, not really "gravel" riding, and it took me almost as long to get my bike cleaned up as it did to ride the route!

Next year I will prep a non-single track route map and share it here.

Looking at the muddy trails, long lines and hike-a-bike, definitely not fun.

The dirt/gravel/roads are beautiful, but some of the single track was extremely muddy and tore up.

If it wasn't muddy the single track sections would have been fun. As it was, we tore up a lot of good trails and ended up enjoying the road sections more.
