On the descent from San Bruno State Park. Don't know why this ride doesn't get more love in the Bay Area. Quick way to get 1,500 feet or so of climbing from the City, and the views are phenomenal. And you get to skip the Bridge.

Also pictured: my buddy's Passoni. Meilenstein wheels. Really nice detailing.

One of my favorite "quick" rides to get in since I live towards the southern end of SF. I usually mix in some gravel via the Saddle Loop trail.

I'm a recent convert to gravel riding/grinding. I'm loving it even more than I imagined I would. It helps to have some nice company to show me the hidden gems of roads we have out here about 40 miles south of Minneapolis. Sadly, my road bike is looking a little dejected having only been out twice this year. What can I say?

to be fair kevin....

from the photo posted, that gravel road is in better shape than 90% of the paved roads i ride!

i'd ride that type of groomed dirt on 25's all day long.

Ha! You're probably right. We did hit some patches of fresh gravel that were a little sketchy and there are the occasional potholes but overall, gravel makes for a fine surface to ride on. Plus, my options for roads to ride have increased considerably. Win-win!! And did I mention that there are so many fewer distracted drivers to contend with while riding gravel? I've become quite the gravel grinder advocate in a few short months. πŸ₯‚

I wish the scenery here was half as nice as what you folks keep posting.

City and bike route riding in the valleys is not the same as the sea and mountain images. Even the most scenic spots here are mundane.

One day I'll take a riding vacation to the mountains.

I agree with pdonk! The riding options around were I live are pretty boring in comparison. I'd love to have some mountains (or even hills) to ride in...it's completely flat here. Some of those gravel roads look fantastic too.

We have the beach, and it's nice to ride along...but that's about it. I think I need a trip back to Georgia to ride in the mountains there.
