Thickness of Dura Ace FD clamp band

Maybe going bigger tires trend with the frame that wasn’t designed for it is the problem? Clearly most frame manufacturer’s designed their frame tire clearance size with a maximum size that fits the frame and components.

“Hmm.. l think I’m going to try these jeeps tires on my Prius… maybe I can roll my fenders”

I've had a Parlee clamp on my Meivici for years now. Dura Ace 7900 group and it works great. Zero issues shifting ever. Cannot tell the difference between it and many other clamps used that were metal.

Success folks $25 and my tire fits!

This is 700x28 American Classic Timekeeper tubeless tire on a H-Plus Son Archetype. It would barely touch the shimano clamp.

Derailleur is a 9050 Di2 works fine on the bench.

I’ve had great luck with Omni Racer aluminum front derailleur clamps. They’re light, inexpensive, and thinner than Shimano clamps. Please let us know how the carbon clamp works for you.

Anybody have experience with the cheap ebay carbon clamps?

Omni. Broke one, another started delaminating using a long arm Dura Ace 9000 front derailleur.
Parlee has worked well. But not as well as the Dura Ace braze on front derailleur clamp which is stiffer. I don’t have a tire clearance problem to contend with.

Using Aluminum for the front part makes for a stiffer and lighter clamp overall. The titanium is used on the back so that we can get the it as thin as possible to get max tire clearance. Thinness doesn't matter on the front part of the clamp.
I'll get one if you ever release the final product. For anything FD related, I'd much prefer metal over carbon bits. The thinner Ti band at the back is a neat idea!

Asking as I’m in a similar situation.
The shifting was slightly but noticeably slower with the carbon clamp, esp. under load, and I dropped the chain a couple of times (but unsure if related). I suspect the hinge that FD attaches to is the problem.

Did a 30miler with 900m of climbing no issue with the omni clamp. I cannot say for longevity time will tell.
