Trainer Road Podcast
Have to vent. Used to enjoy it as workout accompaniment a lot. But good grief, its become hard to get thru. Its one long marketing effort-Look, AI training does this! Look, we have actual athletes working for us!
I don't know what Chad did to Nate to get booted, but the whole thing has sorta sucked since he left, and Nate stopped riding and became an Adderal advocate. |

How ironic. My buddies and I were just talking about this same thing yesterday. One of them bothered enough that he cancelled his TR membership and decided on Zwift alone.

I'm with you, but I do wonder how many 90min podcasts one can do about training. I got into them this past year and listened to half a dozen, maybe picked up some bits here and there, then I feel it became almost a parody of fitness pod. I've tried more than once to get into it as well. Perhaps it's just not for me, which is fine.

I will start with the caveat at my personal view is that fitness on the bike is important because it lets you enjoy the fun ride to more, not a goal unto itself. With that said, I always roll my eyes a bit on the episodes where they're giving people advice and it essentially amounts to have less fun out on your bike so you can stick to the plan better. It seems like they get a lot of questions from people who are trying to use trainer road to supplement their outdoor riding, and their answer is that their outdoor riding is sabotaging their trainer road time.
I do tend to enjoy their episodes that are largely interviews with some of their affiliated athletes. But yeah, I think at this point Nate has no interest in cycling, so it's weird that he's still pops up on the podcast.

What's Chad doing nowadays? I wasn't a big fan, but he did seem to be the only one who had any idea what they were supposed to be doing

I used to enjoy listening to it but stopped shortly after Chad left. Still use TR though.

new listener to Fast Talk. Certainly has more science behind it. |

They should bring Amber back as a guest, she was really the only one driving good topic analysis.
Maybe the politics with the recent moves would prevent that though. |
