HELP - drilled out brake cable stop

So I am building up this frame that I just got and I just found out that some a$$hole drilled out the brake cable stops to (I assume) run continuous brake cable housing. Is there anything that can be done other than to run continuous housing? I doubt it but it doesn't hurt to check....

Get a new one riveted on? You could also look at oversized housing, and their resultant step down ferrules - but it looks like you're a fan of linked housing, so I'm not sure you want to make a switch.

Drill thr rivets out, get new cable stops at nova cycles, put the new rivets with the new cable stops.

Your other option is to put a brake cable ending inside of the cable stop thingy and put some glue or something so it diesnt move anymore?

Or call and pay a lot for the fix, honestly I would try to get that fix at home because just in shipping you are way up there.

One thing tho, sure that thing just need a ferrule? You cant put a cable w/o a ferrule in there anyways.

I'm pretty sure that's correct. I took a quick look at the cable stop on my C50...I don't think it would work without a ferrule either...

Oh, and I run teflon liner on that exposed cable...it helps to keep the top tube from getting scratched.

More of a work around, the ferrules Jeff showed have heads that will stop them from sliding through the stop. Granted the stop is trapazoidal which may make for minimal contact with a cylindrical ferrule head, but worth a try before major surgery.

I find it amazing that someone would take a drill (unnecessarily) to a Colnago

Assuming (hoping) this is a ebay find and not someone who logs in here

Amazing? Really?

Read some of the "advice" dispensed here on a fairly regular basis.

Speaking of which, don't rely on a plastic ferrule to act as a cable stop for your brakes. That's a great way to unexpectly and inconveniently not have brakes.

I've replaced stops like that before - you just need the stop, the proper sized rivet and the rivet gun. Don't overthink it.
